NCPP is focused on reducing the impact of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in the community through an innovative partnership featuring 4 core components:
Partnership Outreach: We aim to increase visibility and awareness in the community by tabling with community partners, providing health education workshops, and supporting local events in line with our mission. At every event, we provide information about what we do, and encourage visitors/participants to get involved.
–Youth Development: Young people are the future. The NCPP provides an opportunity for young people between the ages of 15-24 to develop meaningful skills and experience in community organizing, meeting facilitation, event planning, youth-led research, environmental prevention strategies, policy advocacy, and multimedia. We provide a safe and nurturing professional environment where youth and adult allies can exchange knowledge and ideas to better the community.
–Steering & General Meetings: Each month, members of our steering committee meet to share updates and plan for the month’s general meeting. Our general meeting is open to all, and provides a forum for discussion and strategic planning for the partnership. Food and refreshments are provided at all meetings, and everyone is welcomed to attend. Please refer to our calendar for upcoming Steering and General Committee meeting dates and locations.
–Collaborative Projects & Events: We are always looking for ways to support and work more closely with our partners’ existing projects and events, as well as working together on other new and innovative collaborations in line with the mission of NCPP. Please contact us if you have any ideas for collaboration, and we will work with you to the best of our ability and capacity to make your vision a reality.
