Be the Change (BTC) is the youth coalition of the North County Prevention Partnership. The youth coalition is comprised of Jefferson Union High School District (JUHSD) students from Jefferson, Oceana, Terra Nova, and Westmoor high schools. BTC is about youth and adults working together  towards social justice and improving the health of the community by combating factors that contribute to substance use and abuse.

USE YOUR SKILLS, AND LEARN MORE.

We’re looking for passionate, motivated young people between the ages of 15-24 who are comfortable being movers and shakers of their community.  You can be in the limelight, or simply work behind the scenes (hey, those folks are important too!).  We want writers, researchers, reporters, activists, performers, photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers, and web developers to name a few.  Got other skills?  Sure.  We’ll find creative ways to integrate your particular talents with our mission and vision for a healthier North County.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

It doesn’t matter what your background is.  We believe that every person who supports our Mission has something meaningful and important to contribute to the cause.  Whether you’re President of the student body and in several clubs, or have experienced the juvenile justice system firsthand, you possess a wealth of useful knowledge we can all benefit from.  Even if you feel like you don’t have much experience at all, that’s totally okay!  As long as you’re committed and passionate about our mission, you’ll have a multitude of opportunities to learn from a variety of people and participate in a variety of experiences.

The bottom line is, young people matter.  We want to work with you to show the world how much this means, but we need your support.  Join the NCPP youth coalition and discover just how powerful your voice and actions can be.
